Finlaggan Original is a peated Islay single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It has a higher phenol level than the Old Reserve and is described as richer, fuller and smokier.
It is amber in colour. The nose is firm, with the earthy, smoky character of Islay. On the palate it is dry and smoky, with fresh briny notes of the sea alongside plenty of grain and peat. The long finish balances smoke against sweet sherry and the charred tannins of the oak.
