A cask-strength single blended rum from the Foursquare Rum Distillery in St. Phillip, Barbados, released as Mark XXVII of the Exceptional Cask Selection. It is a blend of rums matured in ex-Bourbon and ex-Black Muscat casks.
The rum was distilled in copper double retort pot stills and continuous twin-column stills, then matured, blended and bottled on site. The Black Muscat casks came from a winery in Roussillon, France.
The nose has treacle tart, sultanas, overripe nectarines, plum, lemon, clementine, marzipan and ginger. The palate is soft and silky, with caramel and summer fruits. The finish is compact black tea with ginger and pepper.
