A single blended rum from the Foursquare Rum Distillery in St Philip, Barbados, distilled in 2009 and bottled at cask strength. It is the twenty-fifth release in the Exceptional Cask Selection series and the first Foursquare bottling to use ex-Calvados casks in its maturation. The rum combines heavy and light marques from copper double retort pot stills and twin column stills, with maturation in ex-Bourbon and ex-Calvados casks. It is bottled without chill filtration, added sugar, flavourings or colouring.
Tasting Notes
Fresh ginger, dried raisin, plum tart, dark chocolate, toffee shortcrust, soft creamy apple cake, coconut, vanilla ice cream.
Dried hazelnut, bitter, slightly sour black tea, fresh ginger heat.
