Fuji Single Grain Japanese Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Fuji Single Grain is a Japanese single grain whisky from the Kirin Company's Mt. Fuji Distillery in Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery stands at 620 metres and uses Mt. Fuji snowmelt water that has filtered through volcanic rock. Pot stills, column stills and several grain types draw on Scottish, American and Canadian grain whisky practice. The nose offers poached pear, fruit tart and cognac-like notes. The palate brings orange marmalade, raspberry, rye spice and dark chocolate, and the finish is mellow and moderately long, with incense wood.
