George T. Stagg is the flagship of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, and this is the 2014 annual release: a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, in a 75cl bottle.
It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at barrel proof, 138.1 proof or 69.05% ABV, and comes from Buffalo Trace's high-rye mash bill.
The nose offers dark chocolate, caramel, brown sugar and bold rye spice. The palate is full, with chocolate, caramel and rye spice in balance. The finish is very long, with dried cherry, cloves and smoke.
