George T. Stagg 2022 is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, and one of the five annual releases in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 138.7 proof (69.35% ABV), in a 750ml bottle.
The bourbon is named after the nineteenth-century distiller whose Frankfort site became Buffalo Trace. The proof changes from year to year with the barrels chosen, and the 2022 selection reached 138.7.
Tasting notes mention dark chocolate, caramel and rye spice on the nose, and a palate of chocolate, brown sugar and rye spice. The finish is long, with dried cherry, cloves and smoke.
