GlenAllachie – 10 Year Old Batch 8 Cask Strength (70cl, 57.2%)

This is Batch 8 of The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength, a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 57.2% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, a deep mahogany in the glass. The expression began by chance in 2017, when Master Distiller Billy Walker reviewed parcels of stock from 2007 and 2008. He was so taken with their balance and depth that he decided to add a younger bottling to the core range. The nose offers mocha, nutmeg and walnut oil, with heather honey, sweet raisins and dried red berries. On the palate come cinnamon spice, molasses and honeycomb, then ginger and dark chocolate. The finish carries hints of nutmeg and fennel.
