GlenAllachie – 10 Year Old Batch 9 Cask Strength (58.1%)

This is the ninth batch of GlenAllachie 10 Year Old, bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.1%. It is a vatting of whiskies aged for at least ten years. The casks used were Pedro Ximenez, oloroso, Rioja and medium-toasted American oak. Together they give classic sherry character of dark chocolate and dried fruit, with sweet spices and red berries. The nose is full of ripe red berries, hazelnuts and heather honey, with orchard fruit, cinnamon and ginger. On the palate come dark chocolate, honeycomb and caramelised demerara sugar, then treacle, mocha and ginger. Plum and toffee run through the finish.
