This is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, Batch 13 in the distillery's cask strength series. It is bottled at 59.8% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and at natural colour.
The whisky was matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, red wine barriques, and American virgin oak barrels of medium toast and medium char.
The nose brings honeycomb, orange zest, treacle and fig syrup, with mocha, poached orchard fruits and cinnamon. On the palate there is dark cocoa, heather honey, baking spices and dried red berries, and the finish is long and warming, with cocoa, dark fruit and a hint of anise.
