This is Batch 13 of the GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength, a Speyside single malt bottled at its natural strength of 59.8% in a 70cl bottle. Billy Walker chose whiskies from Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, red wine casks and virgin oak casks for the batch. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose offers dark mānuka honey, candied ginger and cinnamon with muscovado sugar and maraschino cherries. The palate is rich with cocoa, creamy caramel and honey, alongside baking spices, molasses and a bittersweet blood orange note. The finish is long, sweet and spicy, with glazed blackberries, fig syrup and dark fruit.
