This is a ten-year-old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, the distillery run under Billy Walker. Batch 8 is bottled at natural cask strength, 57.2%, in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. It is matured in a selection of oak and sherry casks.
The nose combines dark berries, raisins and figs with honey, chocolate and roasted nuts, plus cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of espresso. The palate is full and powerful, with sherry, caramel, dark chocolate and dried fruit, along with spice, oak and orange peel. The finish is long, warm and spicy, with cocoa, oak and a gentle sweetness.
