GlenAllachie – 10 Year Old Cask Strength (Batch 9) (70cl, 58.1%)

This is the GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength, Batch 9, bottled at 58.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, an intense mahogany. The first 10 Year Old Cask Strength came about in 2017, when Master Distiller Billy Walker was so pleased with the balance and depth of samples from stock of 2007 and 2008 that he added a younger expression to the core range. The nose offers ripe red berries, hazelnuts and heather honey, with orchard fruits, cinnamon and gingersnaps. The palate has dark chocolate, honeycomb, caramelised demerara sugar and treacle, and the finish brings plum and toffee.
