GlenAllachie 10 Year Old French Oak Finish comes from Batch 2 of the distillery's Virgin Oak Series. It is a golden bronze single malt first matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
It then spent about 18 months in French oak hogsheads (Quercus Robur) from the Haute-Garonne region, made from wood that had been air dried for 15 months. The second maturation is described as adding silky tannins, sweet spices and fruit notes to an earthy malt.
