GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Grattamacco Wine Finish is a Speyside single malt from the distillery's Wine Series. It matured first in American oak, then in Grattamacco wine barriques from the Bolgheri area of Tuscany, selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker.
The barriques bring blackcurrant and sweet tannins. It is bottled at 48%, non-chill filtered and without added colour, and the release was limited to 2,600 cases.
The nose brings dark chocolate, butterscotch, heather honey, blackcurrant, caramelised brown sugar and cinnamon. The palate shows ripe red berries, grapefruit and toasted honeycomb, then butterscotch, sugared fruit and black truffle.
