GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Grattamacco Wine Finish is a Speyside single malt first matured in ex-bourbon barrels of American oak. It then spent more than two years in Tuscan red wine barriques chosen by Master Distiller Billy Walker at the Grattamacco estate, previously used for Super Tuscan red. That time counts within its ten years.
It belongs to the second release of the Wine Cask Series, introduced in October 2023. Bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, it is not chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose brings dark chocolate, butterscotch and heather honey with blackcurrant. The palate opens with ripe red berries, grapefruit and roasted honeycomb, then butterscotch and black truffle. The long finish carries wine notes, ripe fruit and warm oak.
