This is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, bottled at 48% without chill-filtering. It is a limited edition made under Billy Walker's direction for the European market.
The whisky began in ex-bourbon casks, then moved to hogsheads that had held Ruby Port from Portugal's Douro Valley. The finish added red-berry notes and a ruby-red colour that is natural.
The nose combines orange peel, apricot, candied red berries, ginger, honey and dark chocolate. On the palate there are raspberry and blackberry, sweet caramel, chocolate and soft oak. The finish is long, with dried fruit, honey and gentle spice.
