GlenAllachie – 10 Year Old Spanish Oak Finish (70cl, 48%)

GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Spanish Oak Finish is a single malt bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is finished in virgin hogsheads made from Spanish oak grown in Galicia and Asturias, in the Cantabrian Mountains. The wood was air dried for around 18 months, then toasted and charred to a medium level. The secondary ageing deepened the whisky's mahogany colour. The nose brings orchard fruits, baking spices and sticky toffee pudding, with brown sugar, glazed cherries and citrus. On the palate there is chocolate, coffee and heather honey, then pepper, ginger and molasses. Banana and sultanas appear in the finish.
