This is Batch 8 of the 10 year old cask strength single malt from GlenAllachie, a Speyside distillery. It is bottled at 57.2% in a 70cl bottle. It has been part of the standard range since 2018. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.
The whisky matured in former PX and Oloroso sherry casks, together with fresh virgin oak and Rioja casks chosen by Master Distiller Billy Walker.
The nose opens with dark chocolate and heather honey, with orange peel, almonds, cinnamon and spice. The palate is full and powerful, with dark chocolate, mocha, syrup, cinnamon, almonds and fresh grapefruit. The finish is long, with honey, wood and dark chocolate.
