This is GlenAllachie 10 Years Old Cask Strength, Batch 12, a Speyside single malt bottled at 59.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The batch was put together by Billy Walker from Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, red wine casks and Portuguese Tinto casks.
Tasting notes mention coffee beans, cocoa, molasses toffee and candied figs on the nose, then butterscotch and baked apple with cinnamon. The palate has flower nectar, dark chocolate, cake spice, a hint of cranberry and honeyed nuts. The finish recalls black forest cake, with a little liquorice, cherry and roasted coffee.
