This is an 11-year-old GlenAllachie single malt from Speyside, an original distillery bottling made for the UK market. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour, and is not chill-filtered.
The whisky matured for more than eight years in American ex-bourbon casks, then spent around 42 months in selected Marsala casks, which held the fortified wine from Sicily. It is unpeated and belongs to the GlenAllachie Wood Finish series.
Heather honey, vanilla and stewed fruit meet liquorice, butterscotch and roasted nuts on the nose. Apricot, toffee and honeycomb lead the palate, with caramelised brown sugar, walnut and crème brûlée. The finish is long, carrying on with walnut and crème brûlée.
