This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, matured in Sauternes hogsheads. The casks previously held the French dessert wine made from noble-rot grapes, and they shape the character of the whisky. It was created under master distiller Billy Walker.
The nose is liquid heather honey and creamy butterscotch, with ripe peaches and a light touch of mocha. On the palate come pineapple, kiwi and baking spices, then coconut and demerara sugar. The finish carries fresh citrus and a hint of creamy vanilla ice cream.
