This is a 12-year-old GlenAllachie single malt finished in Spanish oak, bottled at 48% ABV.
The casks were made from oak grown in Galicia and Asturias, in the Cantabrian mountains, where the climate is cooler and more humid. The wood is air-dried for around 18 months before use, so that the spirit can take on the full character of the cask.
The finish gives the whisky spicy, balsamic aromas.
