This is a 13 year old single malt from GlenAllachie, matured in a Madeira hogshead and bottled at cask strength. It is a single cask release for the UK, chosen by Master Distiller Billy Walker, with 311 bottles filled under the distillery's new 2024 branding.
The Madeira wood is the defining influence here, and the whisky comes from the 2010 vintage.
On the nose it offers brandy butter, honeycomb, orchard fruits and butterscotch, with hints of orange blossom, hazelnut and caramelised brown sugar. The palate brings heather honey, orange peel and burnt caramel, then cinnamon, butterscotch and stewed orchard fruits, closing with a nutty note.
