GlenAllachie 15 Year Old is a single malt from the independent Speyside distillery and part of its core range. It matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, including puncheons and hogsheads, which give it a strong sherry influence.
It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The nose is usually described as dark cherries, syrup, sweet spice, toffee, figs and hazelnuts. The palate offers heather honey, orange peel, cocoa, ginger and caramelised brown sugar, and the finish is sweet, spicy and sherried, with dark chocolate and fruit.
