GlenAllachie 15 Years is a Speyside single malt put together by Billy Walker. The vatting draws mainly on Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks, and European oak has a clear influence on its dark, rich character.
It is layered, sweet and spicy, with depth that stays in balance.
The nose offers raisins, dark honey, toffee, cocoa and spiced oak. On the palate come figs, dark chocolate, cherries, treacle, cinnamon and a light coffee bitterness. The finish is long and warm, with dried fruit, spice and gently tannic oak.
