Glenallachie – 18 Year Old Bottled 2022 (70cl, 46%)

This is a Speyside single malt from Glenallachie, aged for 18 years and bottled in 2022 at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring. Master distiller Billy Walker chose Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks for the 2022 release, adding a touch of virgin oak, as he did the year before. The nose brings heather honey, toffee, muscovado sugar, dark chocolate and dried sultanas. On the palate come fruit cake, butterscotch and wild honey, then blackcurrant and almonds, with soft oak spice in the finish.
