GlenAllachie 18 Year Old is a Speyside single malt put together by Billy Walker, who chose the casks from the distillery's stocks. It is matured in a combination of PX and Oloroso sherry casks and American bourbon casks, and bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
Tasting notes describe a nose of toffee, fresh vanilla pods, caramel and subtle spice, with a hint of chocolate and honey. The palate brings marzipan, sultanas, dark chocolate, wild honey and ripe cherries, with a peppery warmth. The finish is long, with caramelised nuts, muscovado sugar, toasted barley and chocolate.
