GlenAllachie – 18 Year Old (46%)

This is an 18 year old single malt from GlenAllachie, bottled at 46% ABV in a Speyside style. It is non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. Master Distiller Billy Walker chose a limited number of casks for this bottling. The distillery uses Scottish barley and a 160-hour fermentation, followed by a slow distillation. The whisky is described as rich and robust, with delicate heather and butterscotch. The nose brings toffee sauce, cinnamon, fresh vanilla pods, cocoa, honeycomb and cherries. On the palate come marzipan, sultanas and dark chocolate, then wild honey, maraschino cherries and buttercream.
