This is a 19-year-old GlenAllachie single malt from the Masters of Wood series, created by Master Distiller Billy Walker and bottled at 50% ABV.
It matured in ex-solera sherry casks that had been part of a traditional solera system for more than 55 years.
The nose combines ripe plum with molasses and strong mocha, with a touch of honeycomb and cocoa. On the palate come plum syrup and heather honey, lifted by cinnamon, with a silky texture. The finish brings walnuts and dark chocolate, then lingering dried fruit.
