Glenallachie – 2008-2020 12 Year Old Single Cask 1867 Batch 3 (70cl, 52.3%)

This is a single cask Glenallachie from Speyside, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2020 at 12 years old. Cask 1867 was one of six single casks chosen by Billy Walker to make up Batch 3 of the distillery's single cask releases, in a 70cl bottle. It spent its whole maturation in a ruby port pipe, which gave 700 bottles at a natural cask strength of 52.3%, without colouring or chill filtration. The colour is a rich ruby. The nose offers honey, treacle and grape must with sweet spice and hints of dark chocolate. On the palate come heather honey, vanilla and treacle, with cinnamon, rosehips and mocha.
