This GlenAllachie is a 12 year old Speyside single malt, matured for its whole life in a Ruby Port pipe, cask number 7438. It was distilled on 15 August 2011 and bottled in June 2024 at a cask strength of 55.9%, in a 70cl bottle. The outturn is 765 bottles, without added colour or chill-filtering.
The fruit of the port cask meets the mocha and heather honey notes associated with GlenAllachie.
Tasting notes describe red berries, honeycomb, caramel, mocha and strawberry sauce on the nose. The palate brings dark chocolate, heather honey and blackcurrant cake, then cinnamon, toffee and ginger. The long finish carries wild berries and gentle spice.
