GlenAllachie – 2012 13 Year Old Oloroso Hogshead Single Cask #3046 (60.2%)

GlenAllachie 2012 13 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from Oloroso sherry hogshead 3046. It was distilled in 2012, matured for 13 years and bottled at a cask strength of 60.2% ABV, with 356 bottles produced. The sherry cask gives a polished mahogany colour and an intensely sherried character, combining sweetness with rich chocolate, dried fruits and warming spice. Tasting notes mention salted caramel, mocha and chocolate digestives on the nose, with honeycomb, golden syrup and coffee. The palate shows dried orchard fruits, rich cocoa and cinnamon, followed by heather honey, plum jam and crystallised ginger.
