A nine-year-old single malt from GlenAllachie in Speyside, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2022 at 48% ABV as part of the Wine Series. It matured first in ex-bourbon barrels, then was finished in European oak wine barriques from Languedoc, Valpolicella and two Premier Cru Classé chateaux in Bordeaux.
It is a limited edition, with no colour added and no chill-filtration.
The nose brings orange blossom, Maraschino cherries, espresso, honeysuckle, hazelnuts, lavender, cinnamon and peaches. The palate has dark chocolate, redcurrants, sugared almonds, burnt coffee beans, orange zest, ginger, liquorice and blackberries, and these linger into the finish.
