GlenAllachie – 2012 9 Year Old Cuvée Wine Cask Finish

This is a 9 year old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, distilled in 2012 and released in a limited edition as part of the distillery's 2023 Wine Cask Series. It is bottled without chill filtration. The whisky first matured in ex-bourbon barrels, then moved to European oak wine barriques. These came from Languedoc and Valpolicella, as well as Premier Cru Classé Bordeaux châteaux. The wine casks add ripe red fruit, dark berries and gentle spice to the distillery's honeyed character, alongside vanilla, orchard fruit and subtle oak.
