This is a 4-year-old peated GlenAllachie single malt, part of the Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Series, bottled at 60.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first GlenAllachie distillate Billy Walker has overseen from start to finish, and it gives an early look at his peated work.
The spirit was made with Speyside peat from St Fergus and aged in former Bourbon and Rye barrels, along with some virgin oak casks.
It is auburn in colour. The nose offers honeycomb, dried fruits, hazelnut and warm cinnamon apples, while the palate brings cinnamon stewed pears, toasted almonds, heather honey and pipe tobacco, with smoked barley and vanilla toffee.
