GlenAllachie – 5 Year Old Meikle Tòir The Original (50%)

Meikle Tòir, meaning 'big pursuit', is GlenAllachie's range of peated Speyside single malts, created under Master Distiller Billy Walker. The Original is the first expression of the range, a five year old bottled at 50% ABV, with natural colour and without chill filtration. The peat comes from the Scottish mainland at St Fergus, which gives a sweeter smokiness than traditional coastal peat. The whisky was aged in first-fill bourbon barrels, American virgin oak casks and rye barrels. The nose brings crème brûlée, burnt honey and gentle peat smoke. The palate moves to orchard fruits, lemon zest, warming spice and black pepper.
