This is a 7-year-old GlenAllachie single malt from the Virgin Oak Series, bottled at 48%. The series is finished in new oak casks, so the wood's influence is not shaped by sherry or wine.
Here the finish lasted 18 months in Quercus petraea oak from the Zemplén forest in the mountains of north-east Hungary. The whisky is described as balanced and silky, with spicy oak and soft berry notes.
