GlenAllachie 8 Year Old Koval Rye Cask Finish (70cl, 48%)

This is an 8 year old single malt Scotch whisky from The GlenAllachie in Speyside, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It was first matured in American barrels, then given a further period in organic rye quarter casks from Koval distillery in Chicago. These second-fill casks have a greater proportion of wood to liquid, so the spiciness of the rye has more influence on the spirit. The colour is rich gold. The nose offers cinnamon and nutmeg with honey and butterscotch, and the palate follows with sweet roasted spices, honey, butterscotch, cooking apples and cloves.
