An 8 year old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, matured in American oak and then finished in Koval rye quarter casks from Chicago. It is unpeated, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration or added colouring.
Quarter casks hold less liquid relative to the wood, so the rye spice comes through faster. It was part of the distillery's first Wood Finish range, launched in 2019.
The nose is rich with cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and butterscotch. The palate has intense sweet spice, honey, butterscotch, cooking apples and cloves, with a hint of ginger. The finish is warm and spicy, with rye-bread notes and lingering ginger.
