This 8 year old GlenAllachie was released in mid-2019 as one of three cask-finished expressions. It is a Speyside single malt first matured in American oak barrels.
The whisky was then moved into small quarter casks that had previously held Koval Rye from a Chicago distillery. These rye-seasoned casks add maple sweetness and earthy spice to the spirit.
In the glass it is described as creamy vanilla and honeyed malt, with warming rye spice and a subtle oak note.
