Glenallachie – 8 Year Old Scottish Oak Finish (70cl, 48%)

This is an 8 year old Glenallachie single malt from Batch 3 of the Virgin Oak Series, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle as a limited edition. It received additional maturation in casks made from Scottish Sessile Oak (Quercus petraea) sourced from the Atlantic coast. The wood was air dried for 36 months, then toasted and charred to a medium level before filling. The oak is described as adding notes of blonde chocolate, with hints of zesty orange and smooth toffee.
