GlenAllachie – 8 Year Old Scottish Virgin Oak (Batch 3) (48%)

This is an 8 year old GlenAllachie from Batch 3 of the distillery's Virgin Oak Series. It had an additional maturation in casks made from Scottish Sessile Oak grown on the Atlantic coast. The wood was air-dried for 36 months, then medium toasted and charred before the casks were filled. It is bottled at 48%, with natural colour and without chill filtration. The nose has baked oats, butterscotch and toffee, with cinnamon, gingersnaps and heather honey. On the palate come heather honey, orchard fruits and lemon zest, then white chocolate, cinnamon and ginger, with toffee and butterscotch on the finish.
