GlenAllachie 8 Year Old is a Speyside single malt that joins the distillery's permanent core range. It is a marriage of whisky from Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons, with a small amount from virgin oak casks and red wine barriques. It is bottled without added colour or chill-filtering.
Heather honey and butterscotch lead the character, balanced by sweet spice and a touch of ginger.
The nose offers heather honey, butterscotch and cinnamon, followed by ginger, toasted almonds and mocha. The palate is syrupy, with dried sultanas, butterscotch, cinnamon, peppermint and honeycomb.
