GlenAllachie – 8 Years (70cl, 46%)

This is an 8 year old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a permanent addition to the distillery's core range. It is neither coloured nor chill-filtered. The whisky is a vatting of Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks, with a small amount from virgin oak casks and red wine barriques. The nose combines heather honey, butterscotch and cinnamon, followed by ginger, roasted almonds and mocha. The palate has syrup, dried sultanas and butterscotch, with cinnamon, peppermint and honeycomb. The finish is fairly long, sweet and spicy.
