This 9 year old GlenAllachie belongs to the distillery's Wine Series. The Speyside malt was first aged in American oak, then finished in Douro Valley wine barriques chosen by Master Distiller Billy Walker. The Portuguese casks bring dried stone fruit and subtle spice.
It is bottled at 48%, non-chill filtered and of natural colour, in a release limited to 2,000 cases.
The nose offers plum jam, clementines, dried red berries, heather honey and vanilla spice. On the palate come dried apricots, heather honey and crystallised fruits, then ripe black fruits, butterscotch and cinnamon.
