This is a nine-year-old GlenAllachie single malt in a 70cl bottle, finished in fino sherry casks. Fino is the driest style of sherry, pale in appearance and delicate in flavour, and it must be aged biologically for at least two years under flor, a layer of yeast that prevents oxidation.
The whisky is described as having notes of stewed pear, sugared almonds and vanilla custard.
