Glenallachie – 9 Year Old The Wood Collection Fino Sherry Bottled 2024 (70cl, 48%)

A 9-year-old Speyside single malt from Glenallachie, finished in Fino sherry casks and bottled by the distillery in 2024 at 48% in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill filtration. It was launched in spring 2024 as one of the first three releases in the distillery's Wood Collection. Fino is the driest style of sherry, which points to a nutty, salty tang. The nose brings nutmeg, heather honey and vanilla, with butterscotch, green apple peel, stone fruits and roasted almonds. The palate has dried apricots, honeycomb and butterscotch, then baking spices, marzipan and caramel, with orchard fruits and citrus in the finish.
