GlenAllachie – Hungarian Virgin Oak 7 Year Old Batch 3 (70cl, 48%)

This is a 7 year old single malt Scotch whisky from GlenAllachie, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It comes from Batch 3 of the distillery's Virgin Oak Series and had a secondary maturation in Hungarian oak. Master Distiller Billy Walker sourced the oak from the Zemplén forest in northeast Hungary, where slow-growing trees give a tight grain. The barrels were toasted and charred to a medium level before being filled. It is described as one of the first single malts finished in Hungarian virgin oak, aromatic and well balanced, with a silky richness.
