Meikle Toir The Chinquapin One is a five-year-old peated single malt from Glenallachie distillery in Speyside, first released in autumn 2023. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit was fermented for 160 hours and made to a phenolic level of 35ppm. It matured in virgin Chinquapin oak casks from Missouri, which give the edition its name.
The nose offers smouldering oak embers, burnt liquorice and honey, with ginger, butterscotch and orange peel. The palate brings cocoa, crème brûlée and toasted almonds, with cinnamon, aniseed and campfire smoke.
