Meikle Toir 5 Year Old The Sherry One is a peated single malt from Billy Walker's Glenallachie distillery in Speyside, first released towards the end of 2023. The name means 'big journey'.
It was matured entirely in sherry puncheons that previously held Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez. The spirit has a peat level of around 35ppm, and the whisky is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill filtration.
The nose brings cedarwood, cigar box, butterscotch and mocha, with orange peel, honey and plum jam. On the palate come dark chocolate, smoked honey and mocha, alongside figs, treacle, burnt sugar and puffs of peat smoke.
